Spirent Again Earns Fierce Innovation Award Acclaim for Automation

Spirent Landslide 5G Core Automation Package receives recognition as the industry’s first subscription-based, automated 5G core test platform

Frederick, MD, December 15, 2021 – Spirent Communications plc (LSE:SPT), the leading provider of automated test and assurance solutions for next-generation devices and networks, was today named winner in the AI/Analytics/Automation Category of the Fierce Innovation Awards Telecom Edition for the second year in succession. The annual peer-reviewed awards program from Fierce Wireless and Fierce Telecom spotlights advances in service and equipment development, and selected the Spirent Landslide 5G Core Automation Package as the recipient of this year’s category prize.

Launched in Spring 2021, Landslide 5GC Automation Package broke new ground as a market-first automation pipeline approach to enabling faster, less expensive, and more accurate 5G core testing, providing a truly solution-based approach to delivering customer outcomes.  The solution includes a library comprising hundreds of test cases developed and managed by Spirent’s 5G experts, which enable service providers to bring 5G offerings to market with greater speed and confidence.

“It’s an honor to have our Landslide 5GC Automation Package named the winner in this important category,” said Doug Roberts, General Manager of Spirent’s Lifecycle Service Assurance business. “By utilizing Landslide 5GC Automation Package, customers not only benefit from significant time and costs savings; they can also be confident that they are relying on Spirent’s extensive 5G expertise and proven test methodologies to minimize risk and ensure their 5G rollouts are a success. We are delighted that Fierce has recognized its significance.”

One organization to have already adopted the new solution is DISH Wireless. The company recently announced that it is utilizing the Landslide 5GC Automation Package to automate vendor-neutral test and validation and assure 5G core readiness for live operation in its strategy to be the first telecom company to run its service on the public cloud with AWS.

“Over an 18-month period, customers can expect to save an average of $2.7 million in resourcing and test case development and management using our solution, compared to conventional deployment,” said Roberts.

The Fierce Innovation Awards host Questex received a record number of submissions for this year’s competition, with applications reviewed by an exclusive panel of executives from major telecommunications companies and analysts. Finalists included Nokia, Samsung, Verizon, Netcracker, Mavenir, and Calix.  All submissions were evaluated based on ease of use, return on investment, effectiveness, technical innovation, competitive advantage, and financial impact.
