Spirent Wins Two “Best of Show” Awards at Interop Tokyo 2019

TOKYO, Japan - June 20, 2019 – Spirent Communications plc (LSE:SPT), a leading provider of test, measurement, assurance and analytics solutions for next-generation devices and networks, was awarded two “Best of Show” honors at the recent Interop Tokyo 2019, including a coveted “Grand Prize” for its Wi-Fi 6 test solution.

Interop Tokyo is one of network computing’s largest trade shows, showcasing the latest in cutting-edge products, solutions and services from over 500 vendors. This year’s event attracted more than 155,000 visitors, while the “Best of Show” awards, chosen by a panel of leading industry analysts and experts, received hundreds of nominations.

In the Testing category, Spirent was awarded the “Best of Show - Grand Prize” for its market-leading Wi-Fi 6 test solution. It was part of a live demonstration at Interop Tokyo, showcasing functionality, features and performance testing of IEEE 802.11ax Access Points (APs) and end-to-end testing of WLAN ecosystems. The solution was recognized by the judges as the first and only testing tool currently available for Wi-Fi 6 L2-L7 performance testing.

“Spirent’s 802.11ax test solution builds on our market leadership established in 802.11ac testing, expanding it to the latest standards for Wi-Fi 6 AP, device, and networking,” said Spirent’s General Manager of Cloud and IP, Abhitesh Kastuar. “We are proud to see our Wi-Fi 6 test solution and our commitment to accelerating the development and deployment of Wi-Fi 6 technology recognized by the Interop Awards Committee.”

Spirent also took home a “Best of Show – Special Prize” for its PX3/DX3400G 1U Appliance, the world’s highest density QSFP-DD tester. Contained in a single rack space, the pX3 400G Appliance is designed to validate forwarding performance and quality of service of ultra-high-scale, next-generation enabled multi-terabit routers and switches. A single appliance provides 8 ports, and up to 255 units can be interconnected to provide synchronized timing for a total of 2,040 ports.

The pX3 400G Appliance was further recognized by Interop’s integrated ShowNet event, where its part in the 400G interconnection demonstration earned a “Best of ShowNet Award – Grand Prize” for Spirent and its partners.

“As an integrated, scalable appliance, our pX3 400G will enable major chipset manufacturers, network equipment producers and service providers to be ready for the next wave of speeds to meet customer demands,” said Kastuar, “so we’re delighted that the Interop committee selected it as a prize winner.”
