Automotive Ethernet is far more than just an especially high-speed and attractively costed form of data transmission in the automobile: Ethernet will thoroughly alter future vehicle architecture. Whether data backbones, cloud computing or dynamic assignment of computer power and memory – onboard network topology is faced with immense changes.
Architecture is consequently a major focus of the second Automotive Ethernet Congress on February 3-4, 2016 in Munich, Germany. With solution-oriented papers from leading automobile producers and suppliers, the congress tables well-founded background and assistance on this and other topics when it comes to concrete implementation of Ethernet projects.
The security aspect also features big in the Automotive Ethernet Congress. Just how important data security has become for every form of automobile networking is underscored by headline reports of vehicle hackers in recent months, and how successful they have been. In a wide-ranging security session experts will examine and outline the best defense strategies, and present effective protection mechanisms of automotive Ethernet.
Other focal topics of the congress are test and validation, physical layer and cable, and (realtime) communication. The wide variety of OEM papers – including Audi, BMW, GM, PSA Peugeot Citroën and Volvo Cars – demonstrates how far automotive Ethernet has now come to be adopted in the automobile sector.
The Automotive Ethernet Congress 2016 is accompanied by a trade show with the latest products and systems plus interesting examples of applications.
