Streamline the path to certification and reduce time to market

Alexa is Amazon’s cloud-based voice service available on more than 100 million devices from Amazon and third-party device manufacturers. Alexa customers expect a high quality and consistent experience across all Alexa built-in products. Ensure your product meets customer expectations before you ship by letting Spirent handle the testing and submit the results to Amazon to finalize certification.

As an Authorized Test Lab for Alexa, you can work with us directly to test and submit your Alexa built-in product for certification.

Trusted guidance and technical expertise

Testing is conducted at the Spirent performance center, a state-of-the-art lab facility providing a range of audio quality and acoustic test services. Our industry and technical experts have assisted device designers for well over a decade. Trusted by flagship devices and favorite brands around the globe, Spirent’s years of experience can help you identify and resolve any issues early and quickly.

Assure a quality user experience

During the testing, we will use automation and a series of checklists provided by Amazon to ensure that your product meets acoustic, functional, and user experience (UX) requirements. We will also generate certification test results in the form of Alexa Qualification Tool (AQT) reports and manual checklists for submission to Amazon.

Fully equipped to accelerate device acceptance

Located in Frederick, Maryland, the Spirent performance center has four labs working to assure your Alexa product meets Amazon’s many device requirements. Some of these requirements, such as far-field audio performance, can be difficult to test and measure. Spirent experts are here to help.

Lab capabilities and services

Our labs range from a 9-foot x 9-foot anechoic chamber to smaller facilities more realistic to end users’ common use spaces. Three of the four labs are enclosed within an RF Faraday shield to eliminate external radio frequencies. These labs are fully equipped to handle the Alexa Voice Service (AVS) test requirements listed below. Test capabilities will be expanded accordingly as new features or specifications are added to Amazon requirements.

  • Functional Testing
  • Near Field Testing
  • Far Field Testing
  • Wake Word Detection Delay Testing
  • Manual Subject Testing

Whether in the lab or in the field, we can help you assure that the quality of experience for your wireless communication devices and services meet and exceed expectations for voice, video and data – both before and after launch.
