Spirent Crowns the UK’s Network Heroes—Winners Announced
Now in its second year, Spirent Communications announces the winners of the Network Heroes Awards which recognize the valuable work done by those responsible for developing and running networks.
The Spirent Network Heroes Awards are presented to individuals from nominations whom the judging panel considers to have made an outstanding contribution in one or more of a variety of technical fields associated with networking, and as a result, benefited the business performance of the company they work for.
Spirent Communications run the Network Heroes Awards as a way to acknowledge the true value of technical expertise in networking. Six very personal awards have been created to applaud the individual, and are open to anyone in any company.
The response this year was exceptional and the shortlist for the 2012 awards selected by the judging panel included nominees from:

The winners were announced on September 27, 2012 at the awards ceremony.
Aims of the awards:
- To reward individuals who have made an outstanding effort in understanding and implementing delivery of first class network performance
- To acknowledge the true value of an individual’s network expertise
- To applaud those individuals whose significant contribution in perfecting their companies network performance has ultimately benefited the company’s business performance overall.
To underline the award’s prestige, David Clarke MBE, Chief Executive of the BCS–The Chartered Institute for IT–has again been appointed to chair the eminent judging panel, which includes: Camille Mendler, Principal Analyst and Head of Enterprise Verticals Informa; Eric Owen, Vice President, Telecommunications IDC EMEA; Tim Ring, Editorial Director of the National Computing Centre & Editor ‘IT Adviser’ Magazine; and Greg Ferro, Network Architect, Engineer and blogger.
