Spirent Studio PerformanceWith the explosion of smartphones and tablets, and the apps that run on them, the makeup of today’s network traffic is fundamentally different now than just a few years ago. To deal with this, the network is becoming more intelligent with the deployment of next-generation systems such as application firewalls, UTM (unified threat management), and DPI (deep packet inspection) engines. With this application awareness the network has the ability to implement intelligent traffic management, security and QoS (quality of service) policies that are tied to specific application and user characteristics.

Spirent Studio Performance is a purpose-built testing solution that ensures your applications and network infrastructure will perform and scale under real-world conditions and loads. With Sprient Studio Performance, you can:

  • Measure the accuracy of your DPI-based detection and classification by recreating thousands of the latest applications
  • Validate the effectiveness of policies related to billing and charging, traffic management and quality of experience (QoE) using real application traffic
  • Test the impact of mixed security attacks and real application traffic at scale on your network.
  • Spirent Studio SecuritySecurity testing solution purpose-built for testing next-gen firewalls, DPI and LTE networks
  • Spirent Studio TestCloudEasily recreate real traffic to test the performance & security of your applications and systems.

Benefits

Spirent Studio Performance provides an easy-to-use interface for quickly recreating mixes of application profiles and attack traffic.

Spirent Studio Performance Benefits

Accurate

Spirent Studio Performance recreates an application mix at scale based on real applications running on real devices (e.g., iPhone, iPad, Droid) in your production environment. Studio Performance transforms the communication exchange into a replayable and stateful scenario, thereby causing the network to experience real application traffic.

Agile

With the integrated Studio TestCloud store, you have an immediate, constant feed of hundreds of new application scenarios every month. This includes hot new apps, as well as, updates to popular apps (e.g., Skype, BitTorrent). This allows you to test the moment a new application appears on the network.

Simple to Use

Spirent Studio Performance is designed to be so intuitive that even a casual user can quickly recreate a mix of applications at scale on the network without going through any product training.

Features

Spirent Studio Performance has integrated access to the Studio TestCloud store containing thousands of application tests and security attacks.

Spirent Studio Performance Features

Studio TestCloud

  • Immediately access thousands of application test cases from a single unified UI
  • Keep up with the latest versions of these apps that being updated every month
  • Keep up with variations of these applications on different end points
  • Keep up with geographic variations of these applcations—e.g., Skype in Asia/Europe/U.S.

Multi-Track

  • Select multiple classes of applications and run them on separate tracks
  • Measure policies on a per IP or per interface or per application basis using separate tracks
  • Mix in security attacks as a separate track along with valid application traffic on other tracks

Multi-User

  • Multiple testers can be accessing the solution at the same time and run tests simultaneously
  • The UI allows for large teams of testers to use the solution at the same time

Multi-Player

  • Increase the load of application traffic by increasing the number of scale appliances based on the need
  • The same UI can control multiple scale appliances enabling a linear increase in performance

Detailed Metrics

  • Throughput, connections per second, max connections, user concurrency, bytes sent and received and much more

Test Creation

  • Convert pcaps and Web interactions to test cases within minutes

Complex Topologies

  • Test with complex topologies involving source and destination NAT and proxies
