Spirent's SmartSight IPMax is a services test unit purpose-built for the Fiber-to-the-Node (FTTN) environment. Hardened for installation in a remote terminal cabinet, SmartSight IPMax performs VoIP quality analysis, IPTV quality analysis, and data service emulation while also verifying the physical layer and the xDSL sync capability of the customer’s actual service loop.
IPMax allows service validation testing prior to customer handover, provides quick trouble identification and sectionalization when maintenance is required, and can also be used for proactive IPTV performance monitoring. Slightly larger than a typical in-home router, the IPMax is designed for outside plant operations that demand low-cost service assurance and minimum cabinet space.
Designed to address the need to ensure the Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) in the highly-competitive consumer broadband, voice, and video marketplace, SmartSight IPMax delivers an unmatched ability to verify loop performance and ensure service quality and availability without requiring a dispatch. The result is more efficient use of limited field technicians and improved mean time to repair for trouble tickets.
