Spirent GPS simulation systems test not only the airborne GPS receiver but can also simulate the space-based and ground-based augmentation systems, enabling integrated system testing.

Civil aviation navigation and positioning systems have specialised requirements for integrity and availability, linked to approved safety cases. Thorough testing and certification is therefore a key requirement. Unlike live flight trials, testing in a laboratory using a GPS/GNSS simulator is repeatable and controlled, as well as being less costly.
