Secure Virtual Data Center Testing

HP TippingPoint and Broadband-Testing describe how they created and tested a secure virtual data center environment. Their public test used Spirent's cloud computing testing solutions and PASS methodology to demonstrate the security of the cloud.

The webinar Secure Virtual Data Center Testing demonstrates how cloud security can be tested under real world operating and attack conditions. Such testing mitigates the risks of migrating to the cloud.

In this complementary webinar experts from HP TippingPoint, Broadband-Testing and Spirent will discuss

  • Managing the risks of migrating to the cloud
  • Testing virtualized network appliances, cloud-based applications, and hybrid physical/virtual environments
  • Assessing cloud security frameworks under a range of attack scenarios
  • Testing internal and external-to-internal traffic
  • Virtualizing the test process

More about the tests

HP TippingPoint’s Secure Virtualization Framework (SVF) solution was used to create a secure virtual data center environment. The SVF was put through a number of rigorous tests, resisting all recognized attacks. These tests will be outlined in the webinar.

The test bed combined Spirent Avalanche appliances with Avalanche Virtual –- Spirent’s software-based appliance run on a Virtual Machine under VMware. With Avalanche and Avalanche Virtual, the test covered both physical and virtual environments independently and in tandem.

Spirent Avalanche and Spirent Avalanche Virtual are the industry’s first solutions designed specifically to test virtual and cloud computing environments.

Spirent’s PASS methodology is the industry’s first holistic cloud computing testing methodology to validate the performance, availability, security and scalability (PASS) of cloud infrastructures and services.
