MoCA—Multimedia over Coax Alliance standard—is an in-home distribution technology which leverages existing coax cable networks prevalent in over 90% of US homes. Service Providers have experienced huge take-rates in delivering advanced IP services—opening new channels of revenue. MoCA is key - as it provides a relatively low-cost method of getting IP Video services (e.g., IPTV, VoD and DVR sharing) to the various TVs within the home without new cable installation at service turn up. The benefit of MoCA is only realized if the coax infrastructure supports the required MoCA frequency range. Amplifiers, splitters, poor connections, cable lengths and wideband interferes must all be verified before service can be established.
With Tech-X Flex, the technician can rapidly validate service performance and pin-point the source of all service-affecting issues all via a MoCA connection. Today, technicians revert to replacing routers, ONTs, set-top boxes and even run new coaxial cable in the hope of solving the problem. This is an extremely costly hit-or-miss approach often resulting in repeat dispatches and reduced customer satisfaction. Tech-X Flex MoCA test module is the industry first and only MoCA-approved field test product. Combined with the complete suite of Tech-X Flex modules it is the industry’s leading In-Home and Outside plant field test platform.
