LTE Device Testing

Ensuring successful LTE device deployment

Testing must “dig deep” without requiring a lot of set-up time or expert input.

Before a mobile device finds itself to the hands of the cellular subscriber, quality-conscious operators and manufacturers must be sure that the product will deliver as expected. Finding issues after deployment has a drastic adverse effect on reputations, support costs and revenues. Due to the abundance of possible usage scenarios, testing must “dig deep” without requiring a lot of set-up time or expert input. The answer is automated testing from the industry leader in this field.

What to Test

  • Is the device ready to deliver VoLTE and other IMS applications?
  • Does the device conform to minimum standards?
  • Does it seamlessly transition between networks and radio technologies?
  • What happens in the presence of realistic noise, fading, variations in the MIMO channel and adversarial network conditions?
  • Can the device deliver the location-based services experience subscribers expect?
  • Call reliability (stress testing) goes beyond traditional testing requirements to ensure that deployed devices won’t need to be re-booted every few days.

Spirent Solutions

Spirent is the clear leader in automated testing systems for carrier acceptance testing. Spirent systems have been used in some of the world’s most mission-critical technology roll-outs, and have established Spirent as the clear leader in testing critical areas such as data performance, location-based services, mobility and much more.
