TTA’s Vendor Benchmark Test Used Spirent TestCenter to evaluate performance and functionality of new LAN equipment
Beijing – July 24, 2012 –Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) selected Spirent Communications’ testing solutions to benchmark and validate performance of the South Korean army network infrastructure deployment. TTA was tasked with providing purchase recommendations to the South Korean Army as it replaced legacy communication infrastructure. TTA used Spirent to evaluate key criteria such as IPv4/IPv6 routing performance and packet throughput, quality of service (QOS) performance under congestion and network device security performance.
“The density and mesh traffic generation capabilities of the Spirent’s solution allowed us to fully load the multi-terabit backplanes and fabrics,” said Mr. Seok, senior engineer at TTA. “With Spirent TestCenter, we were able to assess system performance and verify reliability of the army’s new communications network.”
Today’s high capacity, high port density switches and routers present a significant testing challenge. Using Spirent TestCenter’s high-density 10G Spirent HyperMetrics neXt modules TTA evaluated the switch fabric capacity, latency and quality of service (QoS) of equipment for the backbone and edge networks.
“As we step into a world characterized by media-rich applications and mobility, validating the readiness of networks to handle new and emerging services remains a critical step,” said Gene Zhang, vice president of Asia Pacific at Spirent. “By leveraging Spirent’s high-performance test solutions, TTA is able to ensure the highest level of network performance and security.”
