Award-winning Spirent VR5 HD Spatial Channel Emulator Gains Global Market Share

Sunnyvale, Calif.– June 12, 2012 — Spirent Communications, the leader in testing wireless networks, services and devices, today announced that Bureau Veritas ADT (BV ADT), a leading Asian testing and certification laboratory, has selected the Spirent VR5 HD Spatial Channel Emulator to advance its over-the-air mobile device testing capabilities.

BV ADT offers testing, verification and certification of a wide range of telecommunication technologies in labs across Asia. The Spirent VR5 will be deployed in BV ADT’s new Suwon, Korea lab to provide Multiple Input Multiple Output Over-the-Air (MIMO-OTA) testing services. MIMO-OTA testing involves radiating a spatially-realistic MIMO radio signal so that 4G/LTE receivers can be tested under real-world conditions in the lab.

“We chose the VR5 system because Spirent has proven expertise in this advanced area,” said Daniel Lee, vice president, Engineering at BV ADT. “In fact, Spirent was the only vendor who could offer us OTA solutions for testing both MIMO and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technologies in mobile devices.”

“We continue to be grateful for the incredibly favorable reception given to the VR5 by our industry,” said Spirent vice president Rob VanBrunt. “It is an honor to have been chosen by such a prominent laboratory, and a true testament to the hard work Spirent has done to earn leadership positions in these critical areas of testing.”
