Network Heroes Award Winners Selected by Independent Panel of Experts as the Best and Brightest in the World of Networking

London - September 26, 2011 — The unsung heroes of the network world had their day when an esteemed group of individuals were awarded Network Hero Awards by Spirent Communications (LSE: SPT) at a recent glittering reception held at The Churchill War Rooms in Whitehall, London. The awards, in six different categories, were presented to Network Heroes from Cambridge Broadband Networks, Cisco, Marlow Enterprises, Steria and Verizon.

The awards aimed to reward individuals who have made an outstanding effort in understanding and implementing delivery of first class network performance, to acknowledge the true value of an individual’s network expertise, and to applaud those individuals whose significant contribution in perfecting their company’s network performance has contributed to the company’s overall business success. The winners were chosen by an eminent panel of judges from the British Computer Society, Informa Research Service, IDC and the National Computing Center.

The judges selected more than 20 finalists from a wide-range of consulting companies, service providers, equipment makers as well as businesses with unique enterprise networks – all of which involved network heroes who addressed challenges resulting in superior outcomes for their employers. Nominees were chosen from BAE Systems, BBC, British Telecom, Cable & Wireless, Cambridge Broadband Networks, Cisco, Huawei, ITSUS Consulting, Juniper Networks, Marlow Enterprises, Paradigm, Steria, Thomson Reuters, Virgin Media Business and Verizon.

“These awards were created to applaud the individual, and we certainly achieved that at the recent Awards Ceremony” said David Hill VP EMEA Spirent Communications. “It was great to see winners from across the industry stepping forward to take the applause of their fellow colleagues and industry peers, and rightly so. This is the first year we’ve run these awards and we were delighted by the number and quality of the nominations received. This award obviously has resonated within the industry and we’re delighted to be part of it.”
