Nov 14, 2011

Spirent TestCenter Live Receives High Rating in Broadband Technology Report’s Diamond Technology Reviews

Sunnyvale, Calif. – November 14, 2011 — Spirent Communications was recently recognized by BTR Diamond Technology Reviews for providing the cable industry with a solution that is unique, innovative and contributes to profitability. Spirent TestCenter Live 7500 Series Ethernet Services Probes was rated four out of five diamonds by an independent panel of executives from Bright House, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Suddenlink, Sunflower Broadband and Time Warner Cable. The judges commented that they awarded a score of four diamonds for the product’s ease of use, efficiency, and reliability.

Spirent TestCenter Live assists operations at three critical points in the service lifecycle: service turn-up, performance monitoring to meet customer expectations, and troubleshooting. The new probe architecture is designed to increase simultaneous user capacity and deployment flexibility with a first of its kind, multi-slot, modular format. This flexible and highly scalable platform provides service visibility and Service Level Agreement (SLA) management. It enables network operators to monitor performance across 1 and 10G Ethernet networks and beyond, without significant system upgrades. The platform is also available with Spirent TestCenter Live Connectors, enabling users to automate test configurations on the fly, without the need for scripting or manual access of network elements.

“Positive industry feedback is an accomplishment which underscores our role within the cable industry,” said John Cunningham, vice president of Service Assurance, Spirent. “For our solutions to continually be recognized for the impact they have on the bottom line of MSOs is extremely gratifying.”

Broadband Technology Report staff members had no role in judging submissions for the award and scores. This approach helps to provide useful insight to the engineering community about new products available for use in today’s cable networks.
