Environmental Policy

Spirent Communications plc is committed to the concepts of pollution prevention, minimising environmental impacts and eco-efficiency. To achieve this the Group strives to integrate sound environmental management into its business strategies and continually improve environmental performance for the benefit of all its stakeholders.

Individual managing directors/presidents are personally accountable for the environmental performance of their operating units and compliance with all relevant local/state environmental legislation and regulation. Where possible, an Environmental Officer, who shall be of director/senior manager status, must be appointed and suitably trained for overall day-to-day responsibility at each site.

Operating units must seek to comply with all relevant environmental legislation and regulation and, where practicable, should strive to achieve standards of environmental performance which are better than the legal minimum.

To achieve these objectives operating units are required to formulate and implement an environmental management strategy and risk management programme, to identify environmental impacts, comply with legislation, review existing environmental management systems, minimise the risks of environmental accidents, develop appropriate emergency response capabilities and pursue effective resource management.

Where necessary, operating units are expected to seek professional and competent advice on the conduct of their programme.

The Environmental Policy should be made available to all company personnel and, where appropriate, be made available to customers, stakeholders and the general public.

The Group's employees have a duty to take reasonable care of the environment in their daily work.

The Group reviews overall performance at main Board level and has nominated the Head of Internal Control to oversee this review process.
